The reliability has been fantastic. Loads of fun to drive. Driving this car is about the enjoyment of driving, not getting from point a to b. The handling is unbelievable. The car performance has a hell of a lot of power for a 6 cylinder but and it also comes cheap when refueling it. Good fuel mileage (consistently 18 city, 28 highway mpg). Can do 100 mph and not even break a sweat and absolutely dead stable at high speed. The bmw 5 series is an extremely balanced machine that can handle aggressive driving maneuvers on winding back roads as well as it does weekday commutes on crumbling expressways. The interior comfort is really great, and road noise is minimal. The driver-oriented 5 series cockpit greets passengers with a dignified show of luxury. Build and materials quality is outstanding. Sound system is mind-blowing, crisp and clear. Very comfortable, roomy and attention to detail interior. Enviable safety - the 5 series named a "best pick" in iihs frontal offset crash testing.
