The easy-to-drive Mazda3 handles more adeptly than most rivals. The automatic transmission delivers quick, smooth responses. Handling is quite European - with a nice mixture of comfort and road feel. Handling is quick and nimble, making the Mazda3 fun to drive. On twisty country roads, the Mazda3 is a blast and it's sharp, true and steady in emergency lane-change maneuvers. The cloth-covered bucket seats are supportive and firm. Rear-seat room is acceptable for a car this size, as is trunk space. The Mazda3 instruments are lit nicely at night. The three-spoke leather steering wheel feels great in the hands, and the control buttons (cruise control, sound system) have a positive feel. The vehicle's handling is enhanced via macpherson struts in the front and a multi-link suspension in the rear, with 17-inch wheels and tires. It handles more like a sporty wagon than a minivan. The ride is firm, but comfortable. The 2. 3l 4-cylinder engine is peppy around town. This engine is pretty reliable and is easy to maintain. The 2 mazda 5 automatic gets 19 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. Visibility is good, as expected in a minivan-type transporter. Inside, the 5 is simple and practical. The interior fit and finish is pretty good. The instrument cluster is pleasantly basic, with eye-catching contrasts between the speedometer and supporting gauges. Audio and climate controls are sublime, with large, round knobs and widely spaced, clearly marked buttons. Seats are well and an adequate. The driver's seat has height adjustment and the steering tilts and telescopes. With the seats slid all the way back, the second-row legroom is generous. In the nhtsa frontal crash tests, the 2 mazda 5 got five stars for both the driver and the front passenger.
